RICK WARREN CONFIRMS VISIT TO NORTH KOREA

Pastor and best-selling author Rick Warren will go anywhere to preach the Gospel, regardless of politics: He visits the Democratic People's Republic of Korea July 17 to meet with church and business leaders, despite the current standoff over recent missile firings by the isolated communist country.

Dr. Warren is pastor of Saddleback Valley Community Church in California and best-selling author of The Purpose Driven Life and The Purpose Driven Church.

VARNADEAU PERFORMS FOR ESTIMATED 12,000 AT SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION

Singer/songwriter Jeni Varnadeau performed in front of an estimated 12,000 attendees at the recent Southern Baptist Convention held in Greensboro, N.C., on June 14. Varnadeau performed her song "Pray," which she wrote by request for the International Mission Board's National Day Of Prayer & Fasting for World Evangelization.

"Jeni has the amazing ability to transform big vision into powerful emotion through song," says Craig Martin, Director, eMedia Department for International Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention. "The crowd was visibly moved by her performance and her vocal interpretation of the role that prayer plays on the international mission field."

JONNY LANG PARTNERS WITH STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN

Slate reports that Jonny Lang's upcoming album Turn Around, releasing on A&M Records to general and Christian market retail Sept. 19, "reveals him to be a young adult artist of extraordinary musical and spiritual depth."

One of Lang's co-writers on the project is none other than Steven Curtis Chapman:

"I'm very honored to have had the privilege of writing with Jonny for this record," Chapman told Slate, "and our friendship has shown me that he's a man that's passionate about his faith as a Christian and is committed to reflecting that in his music. The Alabaster Artist Agency has signed an exclusive, worldwide representation agreement with Stryper. Alabaster will represent Stryper and lead singer Michael Sweet for all concert appearances.
