If you read my Editor's Letter in this month's CCM, then you know I'm eagerly anticipating the upcoming motion picture release of WALK THE LINE, which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. The movie, set to hit theaters on Nov. 18, focuses on just the first half of Johnny Cash's life, and hence, will foreshadow the deep faith the great artist would become known for. From what I hear, this film's a must-see. (And in fact, I'm pleased to say CCM Magazine is hosting Nashville's special screening of the film this coming Tuesday night--10 days before it opens nationwide.)

The main purpose of this particular entry, however, is to tell you about the special tribute show that Larry King is planning to air a week from now. John Carter Cash, the son of the Man in Black and country music queen June Carter Cash, will be a special guest on CNN's Larry King Live on Friday, November 11. (Note: John Carter Cash will also be featured in a revealing "Listening In" conversation with Jars of Clay's Dan Haseltine in CCM Magazine's December issue.) Larry King also plans to welcome long-time Cash friends Kris Kristofferson, Jane Seymour and Johnny's brother Tommy to his tribute.
