The Good Guys aims to bring back the appeal of the buddy film by forcing the pairing of two opposite types, a by-the-book suit and a crude, womanizing specimen of the 1980s, preserved in an amber of booze and attitude.

This New House

Do people really change? According to television, usually not. When the title character of a popular series puts himself into a sanitarium for chronic drug addiction and the psychological problems underlying it, we may actually be rooting for him to change, but we wonder what it will do to his “entertainment value.” That’s the big risk the producers of House, M.D. took last year.

Hipster Crime Drama NCIS: Los Angeles Just More of the Same

With the long running Law & Order franchise, three CSIs, Criminal Minds, Bones and the top-rated NCIS, it seems that audiences love TV criminal investigations. And seeing as how most of these series start as spin-offs of another series, CBS was eager to exploit its biggest rating success by cloning it.

That The Simpsons have managed to last so long at such a high level of cultural relevance is a testament to the brilliance of the writing and constancy of the vocal talents. You don’t get the ratings to remain on television since the 80s without having some level of popularity among several demographics.
